Genesis, the first book of the Bible, tells the story of creation, Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, laying the foundation for the Old Testament and God's plan for humanity.

The Book of Genesis is the first book of the Bible and the foundational text of both Judaism and Christianity. As the opening of the Torah (Pentateuch), it introduces the origins of the world, humanity, sin, and God's unfolding relationship with His creation. Traditionally attributed to Moses, Genesis was written to establish the history of God's people, the nature of divine authority, and the beginnings of His covenant with humanity.

Genesis is deeply rooted in theological, historical, and cultural contexts, reflecting the beliefs of the Ancient Near East while distinguishing the God of Israel from the pagan deities of surrounding civilizations. The book provides a cosmic narrative of creation, but it also narrows its focus to the lineage of Abraham, from whom the nation of Israel would descend.
